Sight words Clubs
These sight word clubs will begin at the beginning of the school year. The Ready, Set, Go Club will allow students to review the Kindergarten sight words. The Fabulous First Grade sight words club lists are also the same words students will be tested on for their report card. Each night the student will be given a set of words. Please work with your student on these words at home until he or she is able to read them quickly and without sound them out. Students are not expected to bring back the list the very next day after it was received UNLESS he or she knows the words. Don't worry if it takes a few days to learn the list. Everyone works at their own pace! After the students complete the Fabulous First Grade sight word club they will move on to 2nd grade word lists!
Below you will find the list of words for these clubs. Feel free to print out in case you've lost your list at home!

Why Sight Words are Important
Many parents ask about the purpose of learning sight words. HERE is some information about why it is so important.
100 book Club
All students in first grade participate in the 100 book club. The goal is for a student to read 100 books by the end of the year. These books can be the same books that your student would read for Book-It. I have added each book log page just in case you misplaced yours. :)
